What is Let's Vike It!?

Let's Vike It! is a free, family-friendly festival celebrating Norse history and Viking culture. The event features live blacksmithing, combat reenactments, a Viking village, Norse history exhibits, kids' crafts, vendors, food, and more.

Who puts on Lets Vike It?

Aasveig is a nonprofit educational organization that specializes in the Viking Age, 795-1066. We created Let's Vike It, a free historical event, to share that history through our fregna tjald (History Museum) and with demonstrators who teach about life during the Viking Age in hands on activities for all ages.

When and where is the event held?

The festival takes place in Oldtown Idaho, the Lets Vike It event is held at the Oldtown Rotary Visitors Center Park with plenty of parking with overnight camping and RV hookups available!*

Saturday, September 13th, 2025 from 10am-6pm.

*Camping and RV hookups for a small fee.

i​s there an admission fee?

No, Let's Vike It! is a free event open to the public

What activities are available for children?

Yes! We have many activities for kid ranging from safe axe throwing, lawn games, presentations  about Viking warriors, to a shield making class especially for kids under 14.

Are pets allowed at the festival?

Pets are welcome but must be leashed and under control at all times. Please ensure your pet is comfortable in crowded, noisy environments.

Will food and beverages be available?

Yes, a variety of food vendors will be on-site offering meals, snacks, and beverages

How can I become a vendor or performer at the event?

Interested vendors and performers can find more information and application details on our Sponsors & Vendors and Demonstrators & Performers pages.

Is the event accessible for individuals with disabilities?

Oldtown Rotary Visitors Center Park is wheelchair accessible, and efforts are made to accommodate all guests. If you have specific accessibility concerns, please contact us in advance.

What should I bring to the festival?

We recommend bringing sunscreen, comfortable clothing, a camera, and cash for vendor purchases, as some may not accept cards.

How can I become involved in lets Vike it?

You can be a vendor and sell handcrafted items, you can join Aasveig and help shape the Let's Vike it experience, donate, teach, pass out flyers, help set up, tell your friends, there are many ways to become involved in Let's Vike It. For more information you can email letsvikeit@mail.com
